Hi, I am Darren. I am looking around to custom make a doll/soft
toy for my friend's birthday gift. The doll will be a girl in her
cheerleading costume. Further details will be provide at a later
stage. It seems like you do offer such a service. Can you give me
more info about purchasing one from you, like the price, the posting(Singapore),
the time need to make it, etc. Thank you.

Hello Darren. Yes I can certainly make a cloth doll with a cheerleader
outfit! The shipping rates to Singapore from the United States (Wisconsin)
start at $25 through the United States Postal Service.
As you can see from my website, I create many styles of dolls, so
you need to choose a style of doll. First off, skin tone color:
dark (like the Juanita doll) or peachy/pink (like the 1920s girl).
As
for the style of doll: I have "flat face" doll (Raggedy
Ann style). They can have yarn or plush hair and felt, bead, safety-lock
or painted eyes. I also have a 19" doll with safety-lock, felt
or bead eyes. The hair can be plush or a wig, but not yarn. This
doll has very little sculpturing for the face. The last option is
the 22" doll. The fabric must be stretch knit and has soft-sculptured
features with choice of felt or safety-lock eyes and plush or wig
hair.
The cheerleader outfit can be your choice of two solid colors. That
depends on your color choices and what I have in stock. I can guarantee
you a two-tone pleated skirt and "sweatshirt/sweater"
style and it would look adorable. The soft-sculptured doll or the
teenager doll would have "real" socks and shoes. These
dolls are favorites as they can be dressed in "real" baby
size clothes. The Raggedy style and the 19" angel in blue dolls
would have "handmade socks" and felt or plastic shoes,
depending on what can be found.
I would need two to four weeks to create your doll before I could
ship her. I can't be more specific on time until I know which style
you have chosen. I hope I answered all your questions, but feel
free to e-mail if you have more. I look forward to hearing from
you.

Hi Susan, thanks for your reply. I am interested in a doll with
some soft-sculptured features. Here are some attached photos. As
the costume looks a little dull, feel free to come out with nicer
designs? I may need to have some words written on her top like Cheryl
for the name and the no 21. The doll may be of any size. Please
send me the details, including the cost of it and the time of completion
needed. Thank you.

Hello Darren. I started working on the doll this evening. I
have chosen flesh knit fleece and will do soft-sculpturing on the
face, with white felt behind brown "glass" eyes. I have
redesigned one of my patterns so that the hands will have fingers.
I will use black yarn for the hair, with a "center part".
This doll will take four evenings to make, so
by this weekend I will design and cut out the clothing. The outfit
will be royal blue with with white bands. I will try to sew on the
skirt: Cheryl and 21. I am going to try to use "real"
shoes, but am not sure if they will be athletic shoes.
I will be able to ship this doll by next Thursday, May 27th.
Please
let me know how this all sounds to you.

Hi, I am glad that you will be starting the doll so soon.
I am happy with what you have described but still have some questions
I hope you can answer me. About the hair, I don't understand what
you describe. How is it different from a wig? What do you mean
by a 'center part'? Do you have any pictures of such? How big
is the doll? How long will the shipment take? And finally what
are the convenient ways that I can pay you? By the way, you will
be sewing the name and no. on the back of the shirt like Jerseys
rite. Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon.

Good Morning! With regards to the hair, when I refer to a wig
with a center part, you can see exactly what I mean with the "Angel
Girl". But as I said, I do not have any dark long hair wigs
in stock. The yarn hair "center part" would look like
"Little White Dove Indian Girl". I will leave the long
yarn hair loose
and free. If you want the name and number of the back of the
shirt, that's okay with me instead of on the front of the pleated
skirt. But I guess the hair should be only as long as to sit on
the shoulders then, otherwise you can't see them on the back of
the shirt. Because the doll's shirt will be rather small, I am
not sure if I will actually "sew" the name and number
on, or if I will have to use fabric paint for that.
From
top of head to feet, the doll will measure between 20" and
24". You do have the choice of having her legs sewn so that
the knees are "bent" to sit, or just straight legs for
standing. Remember that this is a "soft" doll and she
will not be able to actually stand without leaning her against
a wall or using a doll stand.
The
shipment would take ten days to arrive in Sinapore from Wisconsin,
USA. Again the total is $55. Have you checked the "PayPal"
link from my website? I am not sure how it works with foreign
currency. If there is a problem with that, I can give you my bank
number and you can try to transfer the money from your bank to
mine.
Please
email me as soon as you can with your input on "jointed"
knees to sit or straight legs to stand. Ask as many questions
as you like.

Hi, thanks for the descriptions. After viewing, I find the doll
with the wig looking much nicer. Is it really impossible for you
to get hold of a wig (Black) by the deadline we are meeting? As
for the name and no., you initially said that you will be sewing
it on the skirt. Is it a small part on the corner of her skirt?
That would look nicer instead of the back of the shirt. As for the
legs, something like the 'Angel Girl' with her legs bend, will look
nice. I will look through the 'Paypal' system on your site. Thanks

Good Morning Darren:
The doll I have cut out and have partially stuffed does not have
the legs of a "baby-look" or "little girl" look
like the Angel doll legs and arms....When I refer to bent knees,
it will look like "Juanita" legs. If I don't hear from
you by this evening, I will finish the body with her standing, she
has nice legs with white sneakers. I do not have enough fabric left
from this to make other legs. As far as the wig, even if I could
get one here in time, the wigs cost over $20 a piece. My price was
quoted with "plush fake fur hair" or yarn. And for "longish
hair" the yarn is the only option for a $30 doll. You still
did not tell me how long you want the hair...shoulder length or
mid-back. Yes I will either sew or "paint" her name and
number on the front bottom skirt.

Hi, ok I will have the doll done standing. For the hair, a mid-
back will be fine. The name and no. I will have it on the bottom
of skirt. Thanks.

Thanks for responding right away. I will work on the doll again
this afternoon so that I can do the sculpting and sew on the hair
tomorrow. Hope to have the doll finished by the end of the weekend,
and will work on designing the clothes next week so I can ship it
off as promised, next Thursday. If you can't work with the PayPal
on my website, go to www.paypal.com and click on "send money".
Any problems? Let me know, and thanks for the order!

Hi Darren...If I get the doll to the post office by Thursday,
you will receive it in Singapore by June 9th. Once you send payment
I am informed by Pay Pal. Pay Pal requires you to fill out a form
when you send the payment that asks where it is to be sent. I always
request that I be notified when the shipment has been delivered.
Is this going to be sent to you or Cheryl?
