Good Evening Susan, I was wondering if you could re-create a
stuffed animal by viewing a picture of the stuffed animal. If so,
what is the cost to do this? Please respond when time permits. Thank
you in advance!
Respectfully, Joanie

Hi Joanie. The yellow "chicken" on my website is one
example of an animal I made up with only one very old photo. The
boyfriend got the snapshot on the sneak from his girlfriend's family.
The snapshot was taken with the girl in a crib, and was about 25
years old. I've also done a "standing elephant" in corduroy,
with just "verbal pictures". Last year I did a "Santa
Mouse" to replace a very loved toy for a 4 year old.Email to
me the photo(s) and I will see if it is something that I can do,
and then I can give you an estimate of the cost.

Here is a "very old" picture of me (5 years old-1965)
holding my friend Boo-boo. My grandmother had to sew on a button
nose and eyes. I carried this puppy for 10 years. Never left home
without him. Then he was lost or left somewhere (that's what I was
told anyway). I think my grandmother stowed him away, thinking I
was too old to carry him. He was never seen again. About Boo-boo,
I remember him in a sitting position, with a stump for a tail and
all white, short fur, worn to the thread in some places, with a
big soft tummy. I think he may have been a stuffed Snoopy dog, not
sure. I hope this description helps. Let me know the cost. Thank
you and Merry Christmas!

Joanie: I received the photo, and I can try to make one like
your Boo-boo. I do have short white fake fur, and lots of patterns
for dogs. I won't get to digging through the assortment today, but
will get back to you in the next day or so. Could you give me an
idea of how big it was in height and length?

Hi Susan, He wasn’t very big. He was in a sitting position.
His head was about the size of a large grapefruit (oblong?) and
probably a foot long tail to nose. I hope that helps. No hurry,
when ever you find a moment or two.
Thanks again, Joanie

I believe I found the pattern in my collection that could
be a twin to your Boo-boo. It is an old McCall's pattern. There
is a large rounded head, a rounded muzzle, long ears, and the
puppy sits on his back haunches, short stubby tail. 13-1/2"
tall. I have short pile white fake fur. I would use safety-locked
animal nose and safety-locked eyes (your choice solid black or
dark brown with black inner like a real eye). I use polyester
fiberfill for stuffing. The cost would be $28 plus shipping.

Hi and Happy New Year. I cut out the pattern yesterday while
waiting for guests to show up. I zoomed in on the photo of Boo-Boo,
and I am sure this pattern will be just right. The details need
some help though: you mentioned a short stubby tail. The pattern
can be easily adjusted to a different length. After the fabric is
cut and sewn, it will lose "length" as is stuffed and
rounded out. The pattern laid out flat for the body is about 10"
front toe to rear, but the tail which curves up is about 8"
long total. If that is longer than you remember, I can shorten it.
Maybe you would like it about 4" long total?
When I zoom in close on the face, I noticed white felt around the
eyes, which I like to do also. I also like to use white felt on
the "underside" of the ear, and that appears to be what
your Boo-Boo had. (Fake fur on the underside makes it too bulky
to lay nice anyway.) So is that all okay?
I can't tell from the photo if the actual eye was solid black or
had a color ring in it. I don't suppose you remember, since you
mentioned your grandmother sewing buttons on for the nose and eyes.
I usually use a "brown" color ring, but if you think all
black was what you had, I don't have a problem with that. I believe
all "snoopy" dogs had a solid black eye. Whatever you
want.I hope to get to cutting this out in the next day or so, depending
on my family's demands. Guess I should
face some of that paper work soon too.

Good Afternoon Susan, I can tell from your email that you are
very detail oriented. I appreciate that very much. A shorter tail
will be fine. I like the idea of felt around the solid black eyes
and white felt on the underside of his little ears will be perfect.
Can we have just one more day to not think about aperwork?.....heheehe....
Wishing you a Healthy, Prosperous and Beautiful New Year!

Hello Joanie! Boo-Boo is ready to ship. The post office estimate
for shipping is $5.80. After I have been notified by Pay Pal of
your deposit for the balance of $14.00 plus $5.80 (total $19.80),
I will take the package back in to town to the post office. I
can't say that it was the easiest pattern I have worked with,
but the pose is so natural, that I believe I will make more of
this kind in the future for the website.Gosh! So many patterns,
so little time. I hope Boo-Boo is all you remembered him to be...I
love to hear back from my customers. You should have the package
in 3 to 5 days.

Hi Susan,I was about to write this day off as the worst day
ever!..........then I received a package all the way from Wisconsin.
I am as excited as a 5 year old at Christmas! He is adorable, better
than I expected. You were sew sweet to recreate my lil friend Boo-boo.
When I find a picture of my older brothers Ducky Waddle I will send
you a picture...;o)
Thanks sew much! Joanie

Wow you got him already! I'm so glad you like him. After he
was all done, I wasn't so sure if the "nose" was long
enough compared to the photo, but since everything else seemed right
on, I didn't attempt to redo him or alter the pattern. Sometimes
when I zoom in on a photo, the blown up image makes the camera angle
appear different. So when compared with the actual photo, I felt
it was real close to the original. Again, thanks for the order.
My daughter Leila wants to put the original photo on the website
with the finished product. Is that okay with you? And Yes, please
pass the word, and send me a photo of Ducky Waddle.

Yes, he did seem a little ......well...overstuffed....heheehe,
but I've put on a little extra weight after 40 years too. Oh I
think it would be neat to see my little Boo-Boo on your website!
I've been busy scrap booking, so as soon as I stumble across a
picture of ducky waddle you'll be the first to know.
Thanks again! Joanie
